RCHS Principal's Message

KloverWelcome to Reed-Custer High School for the 2024-2025 school year!  It is always exciting to begin a new school year, giving each student a fresh start and the opportunity to build on past successes.  We encourage all students to get off to a good start and get involved at RCHS.  We also want parents to be involved in their student's education and in the school community.  It is the shared responsibility of parents, staff and students to ensure that students learn and grow throughout the educational process.  In addition, RCHS is committed to provide the safest, most positive learning environment we can.  To help us achieve this goal, we will continue to focus on improving our safety drills and our ALICE protocol for crisis situations.

Our Teacher Leader team and committees are excited to continue to improve in the area of college and career readiness.  We will continue our annual College and Career fair in the fall, and will implement additional dual credit course offerings.  Students will have expanded opportunities to obtain a College and Career Pathway Endorsement on their diplomas.  We will continue to refine our strategies in the area of MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) in order to provide students with the most beneficial academic and social-emotional interventions.

We encourage students to become involved in as many activities as possible.  RCHS will be entering its sixth year in the Illinois Central Eight (ICE) Conference, after several decades in the I-8 conference.  Good luck to all of our extra and co-curricular teams as they compete for ICE conference and IHSA championships throughout the school year.  We are looking forward to converting our baseball and softball fields to all-weather surfaces, and always enjoy seeing our fans come out to cheer on our Comet teams!

I would like to wish all of you the very best for a happy and successful school year.  I am proud to be your principal and a part of the great tradition of excellence at Reed-Custer.  I encourage each of you to do your best, work hard, and bring a positive attitude to school every day so that you can reach your true potential.

Sincerely,

Chad Klover
